blixa sings!

Blixa Bargeld at Studio Z, San Francisco, on 28 January, 2006.  No band: just Blixa, a microphone, and a couple peddles at his feet for controlling the looping of his vocals.  Blixa also invited audience participation, and did not like it when we got things wrong.  You do not want to disappoint Blixa.  Did you know Blixa's voice can shatter mountains?  It's a fact.

Needless to say, it was a memorable experience.

Blixa, much like Santa, has a list.  Unlike Santa, Blixa only checks his list once.

Once a Bad Seed, always a Bad Seed.

No living being on earth screams quite like Blixa.

Blixa throws signs.

Blixa's stare can kill an adult bull elephant at fifty paces.

Blixa reads the DNA from a strand of his own hair.  This is but one of Blixa's many superpowers.

Blixa says: "We are finished!"

And so we are.

  1. Wow, those are really good pictures. I need a better camera, I can never get good pictures at shows.

How come I didn't hear about this show?

  2. These are great!

I've never been able to figure out that high-definition contrast trick when taking pix in a (presumably?) dark space. But you have!

Sixth one down is my favorite.

  3. Kenn:
Thanks!  Funnily enough, I've been feeling lately like my camera is barely adequate for what I'm trying to do with it.  My current object of desire is Canon Digital Rebel XT.  In black, of course.

My method, for better or worse, is to take as many shots as possible and hope at least a tenth of them come out halfway decent.  So I usually take about 130 shots and end up with around a dozen usable images.  Obviously, it helps to have a huge memory card.

How come I didn’t hear about this show?

Wow, I always just assume I'm the last to hear about any show of this magnitude.  If I had any idea you didn't know, I surely would have told you!

Thank you!  It took me some time (and lots of trial and error) to get it right (though I think I'm far from mastering it).  See my above reply for my "methodology," such as it is.

High-contrast in dark spaces is a passion of mine, as you may have noticed.  Perhaps for a dolma or two I will pass along some Valuable Hints (such as they are).
